The BAS allowance is a stipend intended to offset the cost of a servicemember’s meals. The monthly rate is based on the current price of food. Currently, servicemembers can receive these BAS rates:
Enlisted: $323.87 a month
Officers: $223.04 a month
It is important to note that the BAS allowance is not intended to pay for a servicemember’s family’s meals.
