Tuition assistance is available to eligible members of the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard. Members can receive funding for up to 100% of their tuition expenses from their service branch. Application procedures, eligibility, and amount of benefits will vary with each service branch.
Army
Army tuition assistance offers funding for up to 100% of tuition expenses for college courses taken by soldiers during off duty hours. Nearly all soldiers, including those in the Army Reserve and Army National Guard, are eligible to receive funding. To apply for this program, you must fill out the online application at www.GoArmyEd.com.
Navy
Navy tuition assistance is available for eligible active duty sailors who wish to take courses during off duty hours. To be eligible you must be on active duty, attend an accredited university, and receive counseling from a Navy College Office. You will also need to agree to remain on active duty for at least the two years following the completion of your courses. This program will pay up to 100% of your tuition expenses and fees, however, the Navy will need reimbursement for any courses that you fail or withdraw from. Marines
The Marine Corps with pay for servicemembers to take college courses during off duty hours. Servicemembers who are interested in pursuing these benefits will need to complete the TA orientation class and submit this application form. More information can be found on the Marine Corps Website.
Air Force
Members of the Air Force can receive funding for up to 100% of their tuition expenses for college courses taken during off duty hours. Many people enlist and reenlist in the Air Force to receive these benefits. To apply, you will need to fill out an application for tuition assistance in the Air Force Virtual Education Center.
Coast Guard
Coast Guard Tuition Assistance will provide funding for up to 100% of your tuition expenses. It is available for active duty, reserve and civilian employees. Funding may be used to pay for voluntary education courses that will broaden your academic or Coast Guard technical background during off duty hours.
