Tuition Assistance Top Up

Tuition Assistance Top-Up programs allow GI Bill beneficiaries to use the GI Bill to pay for tuition and fees not funded by tuition assistance. Top-Up can be used to fund the difference between the total cost of school and the amount of Tuition Assistance that is paid by the military. Your regular GI Bill benefits will be reduced when you use the Top-Up benefit. Amount paid can never be more than the amount of the entire course or program.

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for the Top-Up program, you must also be eligible for both Tuition Assistance and the GI Bill. This means you need to be on active duty and have served at least two years.

Top-Up is currently not available for members in the Selected Reserve.

How to Apply

You need to apply for both Tuition Assistance and GI Bill benefits to be able to use Top-Up benefits.
